Diljit Dosanjh's Concert
It may be recalled that Diljit Dosanjh started his India tour from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on October 26; the tracks of the stadium were found with litter and an athlete was fuming as he found that the sports equipment was vandalised. It was however shocking to watch a video posted by beant singh, a former Asian gold medallist based in delhi, talking about broken remnants of various other sports installations left over after the concert.
“This is where athletes train, but here, people had alcohol and dances. The stadium was shut until yesterday for this concert. Athletics equipment has been broken and thrown to the side,” Singh said in the video. “
This is the status of sport sportspersons in India today. "Many will remind in four years that there is no medal in the Olympics. This is because this country has no regard and support for sport persons”, he said .
Many Twitter and Facebook users criticized the management for that mess. One user said, “That is true brother. This one is for those who have granted permission to organise events here! They do not know the importance of training a sportsman. Seeing this feels very bad.” Another user said: “I wish people come to watch sports with this excitement nonsense this is.” “That’s why India is very poor performance in international level,” a third user replied.
On the same a Delhi man used the X to complain about the mismanagement during Dosanjh’s concert. In his long post, the man said that the people attending the concert were forced to stand in a stadium for more than one hour before they were allowed in. Further, the management engaged into fight with the crowd, and in the end, the bottle serving counter was closed. The fans and the social media users were prohibited from taking water or any other beverages within the following one hour, that is, after 9 p.m.
