Viral Post Shows Zomato Delivery Agent's ₹500 Mumbai Slum Room, Woman Pays His Rent for 3 Months

A Zomato delivery agent’s tour of his modest room in a Mumbai slum has gone viral, touching millions. One viewer was so moved that they paid his rent for the next three months. Pranjoy Borgoyary, an aspiring singer and state-level football player, left his home in Northeast India to work in Mumbai, where he now shares a room in a slum.

Borgoyary posted an Instagram video showing his small room, which he shares with another person. To reach the room, he has to navigate a very narrow street, moving sideways because of how tight it is. "It's suffocating," he says in the video.

At the end of the narrow street, a cramped iron staircase leads up to Borgoyary's small room, which costs ₹500 a month. The room has stained walls, clothes covering every inch, and a kitten in one corner, highlighting the limited space in Mumbai.

The video has gained over 4.4 million views and hundreds of comments on Instagram. Many users praised the Zomato delivery driver for his hard work despite health challenges, while others were shocked by the condition of his room.

X user Khushi, who came across the post, was so touched that she paid ₹1,500 as three months’ rent for Borgoyary.

The user clarified that, " It genuinely broke my heart when I saw that video directly from Dharavi slum. " When I saw that he is a Zomato boy pursuing his music career in Mumbai, it looks like a big shift. He moved there to fulfill a dream. So I just wanted to share some money to ensure he doesn’t have to worry about rent."
