With true dedication and hard work, any challenge can be overcome-including the GATE exam. This is the inspiring story of Ashritha Mula, a young woman who cleared the GATE exam with an All India Rank of 36 and went on to complete her MTech from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). After completing her degree, she received a job offer with a salary package of Rs. 52 lakh per annum.

Ashritha
hails from a remote village in Telangana. Her family was solely dependent on farming. She completed her Intermediate (12th grade), but she had no idea what she wanted to do in life. She liked singing and sports, but there was no proper direction for her future.

According to her LinkedIn profile, based on friends' advice, she chose to do a BTech from Jyothishmathi Engineering College. When everyone was rushing for software engineering, Ashritha preferred hardware engineering. She wanted to pursue an MTech degree at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and therefore decided to take up the GATE exam. However, in the first attempt, she achieved an All India Rank (AIR) of 3,000, which was not considered a rank good for admission into the top IITs. She decided not to give up but instead work harder and refine her preparation.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she reappeared for GATE in 2022 and achieved an impressive All India Rank of 36. With this achievement, she received job offers from top organizations like ISRO, DRDO, BARC, and NPCIL.

Despite all these prestigious job offers, Ashritha was still keen on specializing more in hardware engineering. She pursued MTech in VLSI at IISc Bangalore, which raised her career prospects immensely.

After completing her MTech, she landed at a job at NVIDIA with an annual salary package of Rs. 52 lakh. It was an extraordinary achievement on her part, but her parents saw it as an unfulfilled dream of theirs, who always used to view farming as the only career option.
