Sonakshi Sinha Talks About Cooking After Marriage
Sonakshi Sinha, who tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, recently shared that she doesn’t feel pressured to cook. The Heeramandi actress attended an event with Zaheer on September 12, where she discussed her cooking habits and favorite cuisine.
The newlywed actress expressed feeling "fortunate" that there’s no pressure on her to cook. Instead, she cooks when she feels like it. “These days, there’s no expectation for women to cook because people understand that women have both work and home responsibilities. It’s also about personal interest. I’m lucky I don’t face that pressure. If I choose to cook, it’ll be because I want to,” Sonakshi shared at the event. During the event, she prepared sattu ka parantha (stuffed roasted gram flour flatbread), while Zaheer made avocado sushi.
“This is the first time I’ve tried cooking something in front of so many people. I felt a lot of pressure, but I think I did well and enjoyed myself. I’d love to learn more about cooking in the future,” she said. Sonakshi added, “The happiest person today would be my mom. She’s an amazing cook and had hoped I’d become one too, but that never happened. She thought marriage might change that, but she’s still waiting for it.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal had a civil wedding in June 2024, followed by a star-studded reception for close friends from the industry at Bastian.
On the professional front, Sonakshi’s last film appearance was in Kakuda.
