The entire nation was left heartbroken by the shocking news of the passing of renowned industrialist Ratan Tata. The chairman of the Tata Group took his last breath at the age of 86 on Wednesday night.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the last rites would be conducted with full state honors. Tata's remains will be displayed at the lawns of Mumbai's National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) from 10 am to 4 pm for the public to pay their respects.
As millions mourned, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was among the first to visit the Tata residence to offer his final tributes.
On Instagram, Sachin shared a heartfelt tribute to the legendary industrialist, praising his love for animals. "In life and in death, Mr. Ratan Tata has touched the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions who never met him share the same sorrow I feel today.
Such is his impact," Sachin wrote. He highlighted Tata's commitment to philanthropy and his belief that true progress comes from caring for those who cannot care for themselves. "Rest in peace, Mr. Tata. Your legacy will live on through the institutions you built and the values you upheld," he added.
