Allegations On TV's Biggest Star Rupali Ganguly
Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly has been in the news after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, accused her of splitting her parents marriage. Ashwin K Verma’s daughter Esha accused of Rupali of using “mental, emotional and physical” torture against her and her mother.
Esha had accused Rupali was having an extramarital affair with Ashwin before he got a divorce with her mother. Esha went on to accuse Rupali of being and of being controlling and abusive, including claiming that the actress threatened to kill both her and her mother. The recent revived post of Esha has made the issue of the family’s matters public, and this made Ashwin to come out to react to the matters by posting on X (formerly twitter).
In his statement, Ashwin wrote, “I do have two daughters from previous relationships… But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges." He added that he cares deeply about all his children and regrets the negative attention the situation has attracted.
In a recent interview, Esha reiterated her earlier claims, confirming that she stands by everything she posted in 2020. Esha also made it clear that she has no relationship with Rupali beyond recognising her as the mother of her younger stepbrother. “Not really, there’s no relationship between the two of us. She’s just the mother of my brother, and that’s about it," Esha shared.
About this, Esha responded to the contradiction between her statements and the joyful family picture that she shared on Instagram in April 2021 – with her father and Rupali. She said the post was “bare minimum,” but she posted it to prove to everyone that she shares a family relation with both of them. She said “Nothing much has changed.” I posted the picture to prove my connection with him because neither my father nor Rupali publicly accepted me as their kin, let alone in person, she said during her interview.
On X, Esha thanked those who reached out with support, explaining how overwhelming it has been to see her personal story go viral. She said, “This isn’t just a headline; it’s my life, my childhood, and the pain I endured then and still feel today. I’m grateful to those who have approached this with kindness, consideration, and respect."
Esha concluded her post with a message about the challenges she has faced growing up, saying, “I wouldn’t wish the pain of a broken family on anyone, especially in circumstances like mine. Every child deserves mental health support and a loving, consistent presence from their parents"
