Meesho Critisized For Selling Bishnoi Printed Tees

Meesho, a popular e-commerce platform, is facing criticism for selling t-shirts featuring the image of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Filmmaker Alishan Jafri brought attention to this, calling it a sign of "India's latest online radicalization."

Jafri shared a post on X showing t-shirts with pictures of Lawrence Bishnoi being sold on Meesho, an online shopping site. The white t-shirts, which cost ₹168, also have the word "gangster" written on some of them. These t-shirts are also available on other sites like Flipkart.

Taking to X he said that, " People are literally selling gangster merchandise on platforms like Meesho and Teeshopper. This is just one example of India's latest online radicalisation.At a time when the police and NIA are struggling to stop youths from joining gang crime, social media influencers are making quick money by promoting gang content and glorifying gangsters."

The t-shirts have faced criticism for promoting crime, and some of these shirts are being marketed to children.

Meesho has removed the controversial product from its website after facing backlash. Earlier today, searching for "Lawrence Bishnoi" on the platform led to t-shirts featuring the gangster's face, but those items are no longer available for sale.
