Western Railway Trains Will NOT Halt At These 6 Stations
The Western Railway advises commuters to steer clear of waiting for local trains at six critical suburban stations starting from Friday 11 pm January 24 because of the 9.5-hour Bandra to Mahim mega block.
The mold-breaking infrastructure maintenance will impact train stations at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim and Khar Road during these times.
WR has scheduled this mega block to replace and strengthen Mithi River's ancient British-era bridge which necessitates a vital upgrade. Block operations will span across two consecutive nights. On January 24-25, it will be enforced on the slow lines between Mahim and Bandra from 11 pm to 8pm and between 12:30 am to 6:30 am, the down fast line will experience similar disruption.
Similarly, on January 25-26, the block will commence from 11 pm on Saturday and continue until 8. The block will operate between 11 pm Saturday and 8:30 am Sunday across UP and Down slow and fast line services.
The block will result in the cancellation of 127 suburban services on the first night and roughly 150 more service cuts on the second night along with 60 partial service suspensions. Western Railway took steps by scheduling certain trains on changed routes to reduce passenger disruption. S
low train departures from Churchgate will use the marginally faster route between Mumbai Central and Santacruz by avoiding stopovers at stops in between. Trains arriving at the stations of Virar, Bhayandar and Borivali will operate along the fast corridor between Santacruz Junction and Mumbai Central.
The Saturday morning train routes starting at Virar, Nalasopara, Vasai Road Bhayandar, and Borivali will stop at Andheri station.
The first fast local from Virar to Churchgate after the block will depart at 5:47 am on Saturday, while the first down fast local from Churchgate will leave at 6:14 am.
