Hyderabad Earthquake of 5.3 Magnitude felt all the way in Maharashtra

Today at 07:27 AM, tremors from the 5.3-magnitude earthquake that hit Mulugu district in Telangana were felt all across Hyderabad, ensuing panic among residents.

Today at 07:27 AM, tremors from the 5.3-magnitude earthquake that hit Mulugu district in Telangana were felt all across Hyderabad, ensuing panic among residents. The National Center for Seismology reported that the tremors were felt in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

According to authorities, there haven’t been reports of any damage or major casualty since the earthquake, but they are constantly assessing the situation. The National Center of Seismology reported the quake on X(Formerly Twitter) and wrote, “EQ of M: 5.3, On 04/12/2024 07:27:02 IST, Lat: 18.44 N, Long: 80.24 E, Depth: 40 Km, Location: Mulugu, Telangana”

Since it’s rare for Telangana to experience an earthquake, authorities suggest residents to stay away from unsafe buildings and crowded spaces. However, Telangana was not the only state to be affected by the quake. The tremors were felt across the surrounding states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. 

Mild shocks were experienced at Nagpur, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts. India Meteorological Department (IMD) and local residents confirmed the light tremors the were caused by the Hyderabad Earthqauke. Apart from that parts of Andhra Pradesh neighbouring to Mulugu Distrcit also reported light tremors in the morning and are on high alert since then.
