Author of the Book Series Harry Potter, J K Rowling, shared a social media post,  writing, "Somehow I thought she'd live forever. RIP Dame Maggie Smith." Whoopi Goldberg, her co-star in Sister Act, called her "one of a Kind" while King Charles termed her the "national treasure". Her Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who got the gig of Harry Potter thanks to her, described her in the best way, “The word legend is overused, but if it applies to anyone in our industry, then it applies to her. Thank you Maggie”, he said.

Her career of over 70 years is filled with blockbuster films like the Harry Potter Series, The Sister Act, The Secret Garden, Death by the Nile and more. Coincidentally, she died on the same day, a year after her co-star Richard Harris’s death, who played the character of Albus Dumbledore. Fans call this the best form of friendship.
