A Lady drowned in a river in Uttarakhand while recording a reel, turning what was meant to be an enjoyable vacation into a trauma for a family from Nepal.
The woman was seen entering the Bhagirathi river—a significant tributary of the Ganges—in Uttarkashi, smiling at the camera before unexpectedly slipping into the river. "Mummy," screams her daughter as the woman struggled to survive. She was then carried away by the powerful currents of the stream.
The 35-year-old Lady was visiting family in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. On Monday, she was at Manikarnika Ghat with her 11-year-old daughter when the incident happened.
According to reports, the woman had handed her Phone to her daughter & asked her to film a video of her in the river.
The bystanders alerted the authorities, & a search & rescue operation was rapidly launched. Anyhow, the woman has yet to be located.
This incident stands as an important reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety while filming social media reels.
In July of last year, an Instagram influencer died after tumbling into a gorge while recording a reel near Raigad in Maharashtra.
26-year-old Aanvi Kamdar, who was on a trip with friends, fell into a deep crevice while filming a video.
