Farhan and Shibani Went To Therapy
Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar, who tied the knot in February 2022 after three years of dating, recently opened up on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast about their experience with couples therapy. They revealed that they began attending therapy sessions soon after their engagement and even made it to an appointment just two days after their wedding.
Shibani shared, “We started couples therapy around six months before or after getting engaged. It wasn’t a case of one of us convincing the other; we both thought it was a smart decision.” She humorously mentioned that they attended therapy shortly after their wedding, saying, “We got married on a Monday, and our next scheduled session was on Wednesday. When we walked in, the therapist asked, ‘Why are you here? You just got married 24 hours ago!’”
She compared therapy to going to the gym, emphasizing the importance of continuously working on their relationship. Shibani said, “There are times when we go for sessions every few weeks, and sometimes we sit there with nothing to discuss. But there are other times when we need more than an hour because I have a lot to say about him. There are also moments when we have an argument at home, but instead of addressing it immediately, we wait until our therapy session. Farhan will say, ‘Let’s discuss it with the therapist on Wednesday,’ even though I might want to talk about it right away.”
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar will soon be seen in 120 Bahadur, portraying PVC Major Shaitan Singh. He’s also set to direct Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, and plans to work on Jee Le Zara, featuring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif.
