In preparation for the upcoming Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on an 11-day 'anusthan,' a special religious ritual marked by austere practices, according to reliable sources. The Prime Minister, known for his disciplined lifestyle, is reportedly sleeping on the floor and sustaining himself solely on a diet of coconut water during this period.

Commencing the ritual on January 12, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for being a part of this "historic" and "auspicious" occasion. He sees himself as an instrument chosen by God to represent all Indians during the Pran Pratishtha exercise. The 11-day religious observance is undertaken with this profound responsibility in mind. The Prime Minister is said to be strictly adhering to 'Yam Niyam' during these 11 days, following the instructions laid down in the scriptures. 'Yam Niyam' prescribes various austere measures, encompassing yoga, meditation, and discipline in different aspects of life. Many of these disciplines, such as waking up before sunrise, meditation, and consuming 'satvik' (pure) food, are already part of PM Modi's daily routine.

In addition to 'Yam Niyam,' officials stated that the Prime Minister has chosen to observe a fast with strict penance during the 11-day period. Fasting and penance are considered integral aspects of the consecration process, described as the manifestation of divine consciousness in the deity's idol.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, scheduled for January 22, will witness the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir. The ceremony holds significant cultural and religious importance, symbolizing the consecration of the divine presence in the deity's idol.
