US President-elect Donald Trump, in a recent statement, announced a new government initiative led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, which will end on 4 July 2026.
On Tuesday, the President of the United States said that businessmen Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy were appointed to lead a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. This new department is said to make massive reforms in the US Government, restructuring to eliminate unnecessary expenses.
“They will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” he said.
He went on to refer to this initiative as the Manhattan Project of this era, referring to the top-secret US program to create the first atomic bomb. According to Trump, Musk believes this will eliminate government waste, i.e., unnecessary schemes, systems, and personnel. Trump said that this initiative would be completed by 4 July 2026, and a new and efficient government system would be a gift to the Americans on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Both heads are owners of major businesses, while Elon Musk is the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, and Vivek Ramaswamy is a Pharma Giant. Both have supported Trump during his campaign, and while Vivek was a former Presidential candidate, he backed out, and Musk poured billions into his campaign and even appeared next to him at rallies.
