1 Year Of Bard Of Blood: The Spy Series Kept The Thrill At The Notch And Adonis Is The Character We can’t Get Enough Of!

Web Series Bard Of Blood was released on September 27, 2019. The series is streamed on OTT giant Netflix. It features Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead roles along with other actors like Shishir Sharma, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Kirti Kulhari. The series is based on the novel Bard Of Blood written by Bilal Siddiqi. It is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta.

The seven-episode Spy thriller series received rave reviews. It has been a year since its release but it’s still intriguing every time you watch it. The series concluded with an open end which has left the speculation that it might come with its second season, however; there is no official announcement yet.

The series is a story of a rescue mission of Indian agents held hostage in Quetta Balochistan and an IIW team is set to rescue them which includes Emraan Hashmi (Kabir Anand/Adonis), Sobhita Dhulipala (Isha Khanna), and Vineet Kumar Singh (Veer Singh). But they are on an unsanctioned mission, the story twists when Kabir Anand meets his old contacts both good and evil his deadliest enemies and suddenly his past comes to life again.

All characters have their concerns with the mission. Isha is bold and it rarely happens that a lady spy is on a mission in Balochistan. Veer is a forgotten agent and has a staunch desire to come back to India to be with his family. And Kabir Anand has his past and he is the most important character who leads the unsanctioned mission.

Kabir Anand’s covert name is Adonis which was given to him by his chief Sadiq Sheikh in the previous mission. That mission has changed the course of his life. He has experienced everything in his life revenge, betrayal, indignity. He is filled with varied emotions. It decides to lead the unsanctioned mission to find the assassin of his chief Sadiq Sheikh. When he comes back to Balochistan he is suddenly flooded with nostalgia from the past as place was familiar to him.

He became an English literature professor in the college after his previous mission was a failure to start a  new life however destiny had planned something different for him. Kabir Anand is a huge admirer of Shakespeare. His quotes in the series are adding extra charm and classy touch. I have read the book as well and Emraan has exceptionally pulled off this character. However, in season one we are introduced to Kabir Anand but Adonis is still to be explored more and assuming that will happen in season two.

In the series, the story is perfectly weaved with the correct depiction of the Indian intelligence agency, USA intelligence agency, and the Pakistani agency. Every episode leaves and unanswered question which keeps you hooked to the story throughout the series with the curiosity of what will happen next. It gives a real insight into the life of a spy.
