Millions assemble at the Maha Kumbh for the Maghi Purnima ritual bath.

By 6 am on Wednesday, over 73 lakh people had taken a holy dip at the Sangam for Maghi Purnima during the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Kalpavas month concluded, and around 10 lakh Kalpvasis began to leave.

By 6 am on Wednesday, over 73 lakh people had taken a holy dip at the Sangam for Maghi Purnima during the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Kalpavas month concluded, and around 10 lakh Kalpvasis began to leave. Authorities have urged them to follow traffic rules and park in designated areas. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath monitored the event from Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been monitoring the Maghi Purnima Snan from his war room in Lucknow since 4 am.

The Director General of Police Prashant Kumar, Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, and officials from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat are also present in the war room. Kumbh SSP Rajesh Dwivedi stated, "The flow of devotees is proceeding smoothly, and we are managing all the crowd pressure points." He added, "We had implemented extensive measures during the previous 'snan' on Basant Panchami as well, and these arrangements have been further enhanced this time." 

Discussing the security measures for today’s bath, the SSP mentioned, "Additional forces have been deployed at all key pressure points, and we are also informing people to ensure smooth movement." Meanwhile, Adityanath extended his greetings for the holy bathing festival."Warm greetings to all the revered saints, religious leaders, Kalpvasis, and devotees who have gathered for the holy bath at the sacred Triveni in Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj. May Lord Shri Hari bless everyone with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. May Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and Maa Saraswati grant all your wishes," he said in his message.

Officials have set up extensive measures for a smooth experience, including a 'no vehicle zone' in the fair area from 4 am and city-wide from 5 pm, with exceptions for emergencies. Designated parking areas have been assigned to prevent traffic congestion. Prayagraj ADG Bhanu Bhaskar confirmed the deployment of special police forces at key crowd points, with a traffic plan in place until the ritual's end to ensure safe evacuation in emergencies.

The special traffic plan will remain in place until the ritual ends to ensure the safe evacuation of devotees in case of an emergency. Bhaskar mentioned that real-time data is being collected from toll plazas and nearby districts to monitor and manage vehicle flow and routes. Srinivas, a devotee from Andhra Pradesh, expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements, thanking Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi. Another devotee, Gayatri, shared her joy at being part of the Kumbh Mela, highlighting the positive atmosphere created by the UP government and the sense of unity and religious spirit among the people. The state transport department has also arranged 1,200 additional shuttle buses, running every 10 minutes, to assist the devotees.
