9 Soldiers Including JCO Killed After Vehicle Falls Into Ladakh River

In a shocking road accident in Leh Ladakh, nine Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), lost their lives on Saturday. According to SSP Leh, PD Nitya, the incident occurred at approximately 16:45 hours when an Army vehicle, carrying 10 personnel along with the driver, was en route from Leh to Nyoma.

The names of the martyred soldiers in Ladakh mishap are Sepoy Anuj Kumar, Gunner Tarandeep Singh, Gunner Chandrashekhar, Lance Naik Tejpal Singh, Naib Subedar Ramesh Lal, Lance Naik Manmohan Singh, DMT Ankit Kundu, Havaldar Vijaya Kumar, Havaldar Mahendra Singh Sikarwar and DMT Vaibhav Bhoite.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and said, “Pained by the mishap near Leh in which we have lost personnel of the Indian Army. Their rich service to the nation will always be remembered. Condolences to the bereaved families. May those who are injured recover at the earliest.”

Leh's Defense Public Relations Officer (PRO) had earlier disclosed that the accident occurred near Kerey village in the Nyoma Tehsil of Leh Ladakh. The soldiers were on their way to Kerey from the Karu garrison when the tragic accident unfolded.
