Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh raised the national flag at his official residence in Delhi in preparation for the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort in the National Capital.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his 11th Independence Day address, various cabinet ministers and notable dignitaries have gathered at the Red Fort. Among those present are Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, NSA Ajit Doval, and Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with several others, for the 78th Independence Day celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the national flag and deliver his 11th consecutive speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort. The fort has been adorned with floral decorations in the national flag's colors, and preparations are in full swing. Other Union Ministers including Giriraj Singh, Mansukh Mandaviya, Manohar Lal Khattar, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chirag Paswan, and Bhupender Yadav have also arrived at the Red Fort for the Independence Day festivities.
The Indian Olympic contingent is also expected to participate in today's Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.
On this occasion, Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan remarked, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to all citizens on this Independence Day. Freedom was not handed to us easily by the British; countless revolutionaries sacrificed their lives for it. Many endured harsh conditions and spent their youth imprisoned in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands... I pay tribute to all these freedom fighters. We are committed to living for our country and pledge to achieve a developed India by 2047, as envisioned by PM Narendra Modi.”
