NEET-UG 2024 'alleged paper leak' hearing today

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a series of petitions concerning the alleged leakage of papers and irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 on Thursday, July 11, following the Union government's recent submission of a new affidavit opposing calls for a re-test. The affidavit also emphasized that a detailed report from IIT-Madras contradicts claims of widespread misconduct or undue advantages for candidates at certain centers.

Reportedly, more than 40 petitions are on the docket for the Supreme Court hearing.

NEET-UG, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), serves as the entrance examination for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and related courses in both public and private institutions across the country. The NEET-UG 2024 exam conducted on May 5 faced controversies involving alleged paper leaks and the awarding of grace marks to some students.
