The upcoming event, themed ‘Modi & US: Progress Together,’ aims to celebrate the relationship between India and the US, focusing on the “cultural ethos” of viewing the “world as one family,” with diversity as a strength and the well-being of all people and the planet serving as inspiration for building a better world together.

According to sources, approximately 15,000 attendees are expected, and the event will feature a “unique and different” format compared to previous events that Prime Minister Modi has addressed in the US. “The primary goal of the event is to honor the diaspora, their achievements, future prospects, and their connections with India.”

Recognizing that the event is taking place during the American election season, the organizers have decided to keep it strictly non-political this time. “No elected officials will be invited to this event,” they stated.

This will be the fifth occasion on which Modi addresses the Indian community in the US. In 2014, he spoke at Madison Square Garden in New York, where he was joined by tens of thousands of Indian-Americans and numerous elected officials, including Congressional representatives and Senators. In 2015, Modi addressed the Indian community in San Jose, California, with a focus on Silicon Valley's tech sector and the West Coast's political leadership.

In 2017, he spoke to community organization leaders at a smaller event in Washington DC. In 2019, just before the last presidential elections, Modi and then-President Donald Trump spoke at the largest ever gathering of Indian-Americans in Houston. This event faced criticism from Democrats, who perceived it as an indication of India taking sides in the election, prompting Delhi to work hard to counter that perception.
