The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for portions of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa for Saturday, anticipating heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the region. IMD forecasts continued intense rainfall across Gujarat and southern peninsular India until Sunday.

The IMD has additionally issued a 'signal 3' alert for the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh due to persistent heavy rainfall affecting the state. The signal 3 port warning has been issued for Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, and Kakinada, cautioning vessels about the potential threat of a cyclonic storm.
