On Friday, Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) was planning a raid on him in response to his 'Chakravtyuh' speech delivered in Parliament on July 29.

Gandhi stated that he was 'awaiting with open arms' after receiving information from ED 'insiders' about a potential raid. He posted on X, "It seems that 2 in 1 didn't appreciate my Chakravyuh speech. ED 'insiders' have informed me of an impending raid. I'm ready and waiting, @dir_ed. Chai and biscuits are on me."

This follows Gandhi's criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address on the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha on July 29. Gandhi alleged that farmers, workers, and youth of the nation are fearful and criticized Modi for prominently featuring the lotus symbol. He suggested that a new 'Chakravyuh' has been constructed in the 21st century, asserting that the budget has betrayed the middle class, which had eagerly responded to Modi's earlier call to bang thalis.

Gandhi claimed that the 'Chakravyuh' created by the central government is negatively impacting millions of people.

In response, BJP Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur ridiculed Rahul Gandhi's references to Mahabharata and Chakravyuh, suggesting that some individuals are 'accidental Hindus' with only a superficial understanding of the Mahabharata. Thakur criticized Gandhi's Chakravyuh comments, asserting that Gandhi’s reference was apt given the numerous "Chakravyuhs" created by the Congress Party, with the first being the party itself, which he claimed had divided the country.

Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Anurag Thakur for his speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, where Thakur had countered Rahul Gandhi’s earlier remarks, describing his own address as "a perfect blend of facts and humor."
