Royal Challengers Bangalore again got a clinical win in a close encounter game in the second match, today against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In a losing match where Hyderabad needed just 35 runs off 24 balls, Shahbaz Nadeem took 3 wickets in 17th over and shifted the momentum of the match.
Earlier Sunrisers Hyderabad opted bowl first after winning the crucial toss; Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to score 149 runs with the anchor innings by Maxwell of 59 runs. Though Royal’s middle order collapsed today against dangerous bowling by Holder and Rashid Khan; Kohli and Maxwell’s partnership impacted the score card.
In the second innings, Hyderabad’s main batsmen Warner and Pandey scored 83 runs partnership for 2nd wicket which took the match out of Kohli’s hands. But after Warner got caught in the 14th over, SRH lose wickets in regular intervals and in the 17th over star of the match Shahbaz Nadeem bowled some mysterious bowling.
Nadeem took 3 wickets in a single over which completely turned the match and pressure on opponents. Hyderabad’s middle order tried to fightback but failed to go through it as Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel controlled the death overs by their skillful bowling performances.
Bangalore registered consecutive second win in the campaign and went straight up on the first position in the points table. While Hyderabad lost their second match by very less runs, Warner and co. again failed to take advantage of a good start in small chase and lost another winning match.
