Follow UsThe British rock band Coldplay is set to perform in India for a concert in 2025. Their first visit to the country was in 2016, where they played at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. This upcoming concert will mark their first full performance in Mumbai as part of their Music of Spheres tour, which began in 2022. The band has toured various regions around the world, including Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, and Australia.
According to an announcement from the entertainment platform BookMyShow Live, Coldplay will take the stage at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on January 18 and 19, 2025. A surprise guest is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. Tickets will go on sale on September 22 at 12 PM IST. A statement noted that Coldplay will also offer a limited number of Infinity Tickets for the shows, which will be available starting at 12 PM (IST) on November 22, 2024.
Infinity Tickets are designed to make the Music of the Spheres World Tour more accessible, costing around €20 (approximately Rs 2000) each and must be purchased in pairs. Buyers are limited to two tickets per transaction, which will be adjacent to one another. The exact locations of these seats will be disclosed when fans pick up their tickets at the box office on the day of the concert, with seating options ranging from the floor to upper levels and side views.
In contrast, their 2016 performance in India was a brief affair, lasting under 10 minutes, with lead vocalist Chris Martin singing alongside AR Rahman and engaging with the audience in Hindi.
For those unfamiliar, Coldplay released their album Music of the Spheres in 2021, which is heavily inspired by cosmic themes. They collaborated with artists like BTS for the hit single "My Universe," which gained worldwide acclaim.
Their music blends soft, melodic rock with lyrics that explore themes of love, life, and pain.
