Maharashtra will undergo 15 days of strict guidelines in state from April 15 midnight. Public transport will be open for only essential services. Starting 8 pm on April 14 till 7 am on May 1. Emergency services will remain open between 7 am and 8 pm daily, he said.
In a video address, Thackeray said the state government is continuously upgrading the healthcare infrastructure but it is under pressure. “There is a shortage of medical oxygen, beds and the demand for Remdesivir has also increased,” he said.
Stricter restrictions to be imposed in the state from 8 pm tomorrow for at least next 15 days-
- Section 144 will be imposed No unnecessary travel
- Only essential services to function from 7 am to 8 pm
- All establishments, public places will remain closed, except essentials
- Public transport will continue to function only for essential workers and in emergency and for essential activities for general public
Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) is issued in urgent cases of security threat or emergency and bars the assembly of five or more people in an area where it has been imposed. The CM also said he will speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request him to provide the Indian Air Force’s assistance in the supply of oxygen for medical use from nearby states.
Cinema halls, theatres, swimming pools, gyms and sports complexes to remain closed. Shooting for film/serials/advertisements will be closed. Public places like beaches, gardens, open spaces etc. shall remain closed. Religious places of worship will remain close. Barber shops, spas, salons and beauty parlors to remain closed. All schools and colleges to remain closed.
