Manchester United will be welcoming Liverpool for the FA Cup game on Sunday at 10:30 PM IST at Old Trafford. The two teams will be playing each other for the second time in a week.
Liverpool is currently struggling with their form as they have managed to win just one game in their last six fixtures in all competitions.
That victory came against Aston Villa in the previous round of the FA Cup. Villa had to play with academy players against Liverpool after a COVID-19 outbreak within their first team.
Liverpool had a humiliating loss against Burnley in the Premier League on Thursday night, which broke their proud unbeaten home record. That 1-0 loss to Burnley, meant that Liverpool lost their first league game at Anfield since April 2017. Liverpool had a streak of 68 victories at the venue.
On the other hand, Man United will be entering into this game after a comprehensive 2-1 victory against Fulham. In the last round, Scott McTominay’s goal helped Manchester United to secure the game against Watford 1-0.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Manchester United has the upper hand as they won 88 games against Liverpool and lost to them on 77 occasions. The last encounter between the two teams took place on Sunday, the game ended in a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Manchester United will miss the services of Phil Jones and Marcos Brandon Williams’ availability is doubtful.
