We all love to Grow plants?

But we all want additional benefits from it?

With increasing pollution, there has been a rise in health problems. We keep visiting doctors and hospitals for even common health issues. Many of these common health problems can be tackled in a natural manner. There are so many plants that have medicinal benefits and we can grow them easily in our home.
Given below are some of my favorite medicinal plants. These plants can not only be grown easily but they also require very less care.

NEEM :

Every Indian home is familiar with neem as we use it in various Indian dishes but apart from that neem is really good for skin & health and it can also be used as home remedies for common health problems. Ancient India has used Neem branches for cleaning teeth. Neem extract is effective in healing sore throat, eczema and stomach ulcers. It can also be used for minor skin infection.

TULSI:

Tulsi has been in our life religiously but that’s not only the reason, Tulsi is known for its healing properties of the mind, body, and spirit. It is used for curing cough & cold, sore throat & Asthma. Tulsi also helps in lowering high blood pressure & relieving stress. Tulsi famous for its religious values also known as Queen of the herbs is widely cultivated in india, mainly in front of the houses with a belief that it inhibits negative energy and promotes positivity by purifying the air. Tulsi is known since ancient times for its medicinal properties and known to cure variety of diseases which include
· Tulsi leaves act as mucolytic agent and treats Cold, and Cough
· It produces calming effect when consumed as tea in Stress, and anxiety.
· Tulsi leaves also possess anti-microbial properties which help in treating stomach infections
· Tulsi has the ability to purify the air and remove the unwanted chemicals from entering the house.

PARSLEY:

A must have plant for every garden, Parsley has innumerable medicinal benefits. It has ample vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants, which can greatly improve our health. You will find it used in the dressing of many dishes. It is helpful in curing toothaches, bruises, insect bites, rough skin and digestive disorders. This plant also helps in fighting Kidney Stones, Urinary Tract Infections, and Gallbladder Infections. It improves immunity and promotes bone health.

ALOE VERA :

Aloe Vera plant is the most common houseplant grown as it is easy to grow with many medicinal uses. Aloe Vera has thick and fleshy, green-grey leaves arising from the base of without stem. The leaves have serrated margins with small white teeth.
The aloe leaves are commercially used in cosmetics and medicines where it is known to treat a plethora of diseases like hair fall, sunburns, skin diseases etc.
It is found to have soothing, moisturizing and healing properties.

Aloe gel is used as weight loss treatment, for hair growth and shiny hair, asthma, stomach ulcers, bowel diseases, itching, and inflammation.

FENUGREEK OR METHI:

One of the most commonly used plants in Indian households, methi leaves, and seeds are used in a variety of food preparation in India. Not just for its taste, rather this plant helps in treating digestive problems and curing dysentery and diarrhea. And unlike the chemicals used in most of the shampoos, methi paste applied on scalp help in long and lustrous hair growth and protection.

LEMON GRASS:

As the name suggests, this grass has the smell of lemon but is sweeter. It has surplus medicinal benefits and also is an effective insect repellent. Commonly consumed as Lemongrass Tea, it has enormous health benefits: from relieving digestive disorders, congestion, cough, stomach-aches, headaches, cholesterol lowering agent to help in weight loss, enhanced kidney functioning and preventing hair fall. It also has antidepressant properties which activates the release of serotonin and hence reducing depression, anxiety and improves mental health.

AJWAIN:

One of the easily grown plant and an important herb in Indian Kitchen. It has a very strong smell and is used in various ways. Ajwain seeds taken with lukewarm water
helps in various digestive problems, acidity, and stomach-ache. Inhaling mild heated
ajwain seeds put in a thin cloth or potli helps in treating headaches, cough, and cold.
Due to its pungent smell, when applied with mustard oil, it acts as a mosquito repellent.

SAGE:

Also being used for many thousands centuries, this plant shows it’s medicinal worth by inhalation, through chewing leaves and by making ointments and paste. Consuming even a little amount of Sage boost memory and increase cognitive power. As such, it has shown good results in treating Alzheimer’s disease by improving memory and concentration. Sage also improves immunity system and bone health. The antioxidant properties in sage helps in preventing many dangerous diseases that can happen in heart, organ, joints and even brain.
