The actress explained, "I only drink during work-related outings, and it's on these occasions that I may consume larger amounts of alcohol. However, I don't consider myself a heavy drinker, as I rarely drink outside of these work-related events."

Shin Hye Sun clarified that she frequents a specific bar, where she's been a regular for the past five years, and primarily indulges in Highballs in private rooms that others cannot see into. She emphasised that she has never even consumed a full bottle of beer on her own.

Here is what Shin Hye Sun said:

I only go to this one bar. I’m a regular there, and I’ve only drank there for the past five years. The bar has rooms that others can’t see inside. I drink Highballs there. So, to address the rumours, I have never even drunk a bottle of beer alone.

The reason why I want to say that the rumours claiming I am a good drinker are misunderstandings is because I only drink during work-related outings. Because it’s then that I drink, when I do drink, I drink a lot. Because it isn’t often that I can (freely) drink with other people, on these outings, I drink a lot. Because there are times when I do drink a lot, I’m not sure if I am a heavy drinker or not. But I don’t like the smell of alcohol.

The actress further addressed a past comment about drinking 40 bottles of soju, explaining that it was not soju but Chungha, a sweeter and milder type of alcohol. Shin Hye Sun hopes to clear the air and dispel any misconceptions regarding her drinking habits.
