Beloved singer and actor Seo In Guk recently completed his first-ever U.S. fanmeetings with events in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. The fanmeetings were a major success, offering Seo In Guk the chance to connect with his international fans up close.

During his Washington D.C. fanmeeting on Saturday, a touching moment occurred when a longtime fan was given the opportunity to ask Seo In Guk a question. The fan revealed that they had followed him since his debut on Superstar K in 2009, when they were just 8 years old. Now 25 and having transitioned, the fan came out as bisexual and shared their personal journey. They expressed how much Seo In Guk’s portrayal of gay characters meant to them during a time when they lacked support from others in their life.

Seo In Guk was visibly moved by the fan’s story and responded with an encouraging and heartfelt message. He said, “Although I can never understand the hurt you went through… The fact that you are here communicating with me and the audience, I hope you always find the power within you. Just like I receive love from you all, you have the right to receive love.”
