KBS 2TV Announces New Idol Survival Show Featuring North Korean Defectors

KBS 2TV is set to captivate audiences with its upcoming idol survival show, "Make Mate 1" (MA 1), which will showcase North Korean defectors among its participants.

The network unveiled details of the show during a media event attended by producers, writers, and star mentors, including EXO's Xiumin as the MC, singer Lim Han Byul, MAMAMOO's Solar, dancer Vata, Ingyoo, rapper Hanhae, and actress Kim Sung Eun.

The show aims to break away from traditional idol concepts by working with raw talent and showcasing their growth journey. Winning contestants will debut as a group, with potentially endless post-debut activities, free from prior agency obligations.

Set to premiere on May 15 at 10:10 PM KST, the show promises to offer a fresh perspective on the idol industry and the journey of aspiring artists.
