28th October was the key date for two people – Karan Johar who fought with media, speculations and contorversies surrounding his film and should be a happy man now thanks to overwhelming response to “Ae Dil Hain Mushkil” and Ranbir Kapoor, who was going through tough times after debacles like “Bombay Velvet” and “Roy” and desperately needed a hit.
As we speak now, the team behind “Ae Dil Hain Mushkil” should have already started the celebration since the critical acclaim and box office response have been fabulous for the first week. “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” remained steady bringing the total first week collections to Rs 80.19 crores and gross being equal to Rs 114.55 crores. With Overseas collections earning to 8.2 million in week one (equivalent to Rs 54.71 crore), the total worldwide gross is coming to Rs 169.26 crores.
With success of the film, Karan Johar tweeted the new song “An Evening In Paris” yesterday from “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” which was deleted in the earlier version of prints circulated across the theaters.
