On April 30, 2025, Gold Medalist, the agency representing actor Kim Soo Hyun, announced that it had filed an additional complaint and indictment against Kim Se Ui, the operator of the Garosero Research Institute YouTube channel.

Legal Actions Taken by Gold Medalist:

1. Violation of the Stalking Punishment Act

On April 1, 2025, Gold Medalist filed a complaint against Kim Se Eui for allegedly violating the Stalking Punishment Act. The agency claims that Garosero Research Institute persistently spread false information about Kim Soo Hyun, including the distribution of private photos and messages, despite a court order prohibiting such actions.

 

2. Distribution of Unauthorized Intimate Images

On March 20, 2025, the agency filed a criminal complaint against Kim Se Eui and an individual claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's aunt. The complaint pertains to the unauthorized distribution of a private photo of Kim Soo Hyun, which was broadcasted during a live stream on Garosero Research Institute's channel. The agency asserts that this act constitutes a violation of laws concerning the distribution of illegal footage.

3. Defamation and Spreading False Information

Gold Medalist has accused Garosero Research Institute of making unfounded claims about Kim Soo Hyun's relationship with Kim Sae Ron, including allegations that their relationship began when she was a minor. The agency has provided counter-evidence to refute these claims and has taken legal steps to address the dissemination of such information.

4. Threats and Coercion Related to Drama Release

In live broadcasts on March 21 and 22, 2025, Garosero Research Institute allegedly threatened to release additional private content of Kim Soo Hyun if the Disney+ drama "Knock-Off," starring the actor, was not canceled. Gold Medalist has interpreted these actions as attempts at coercion and has included them in their legal complaints.

5. Additional Charges of Intimidation

On March 24, 2025, Gold Medalist filed further charges against Kim Se Eui for intimidation under criminal law. These actions violate the court's decision and are subject to criminal punishment of up to two years in prison or a fine of up to ₩20 million KRW (approximately $14,000 USD).
