The family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron has publicly denied recent claims suggesting she was possessed by a spirit to reignite her acting career. In response, the family issued a statement to a media outlet on April 14, stating:

It is false news that a spirit possessed her. She became interested in the field after appearing in a work based on folk beliefs in the past. The shaman is just an acquaintance and nothing more.

Kim Sae Ron's interest in shamanism was attributed to her roles in the film Manshin: Ten Thousand Spirits and the drama The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim, both of which explore themes related to Korean folk beliefs. The family emphasized that her engagement with shamanism was purely professional and not indicative of personal spiritual experiences.

The Apgujeong pub owner, implicated in Lee Jin Ho's claims, also denied any involvement, stating:

If Sae Ron were possessed by a spirit and I had arranged it, I would close the store immediately and quietly disappear.
