Indian festivals were more fun in the childhood. In the earlier days there used to be a joint family system in which entire family celebrates together. Today is Lohri, a popular Punjabi winter folk festival celebrated primarily in the Punjab region. Lohri is the celebration of the arrival of longer days after the winter solstice. Singing and dancing form an intrinsic part of the celebrations. People wear their brightest clothes and come to dance the bhangra and gidda to the beat of the dhol. The festival is entirely a get together for elder and young people in the society.
Our Bollywood celebrities are also fond of such festivals. B-world actress Kangana Ranaut who is active on social media took to her social media account and shared an instance of Lohri she used to experience in her childhood. The actress also gave Lohri wishes to her fans.
Kangana being a child from Himachal region has experienced a bright side of the festival. While giving Lohri wishes to her fans she wrote, “In Himachal we have a tradition of singing Lohri, when I was small, children made groups and sang Lohri in neighbourhoods and collected money/sweets, children in villages and joint families have much more fun than city kids in nuclear families, anyway #HappyLohri2021”
She even posted some pictures from her childhood in which she is seen celebrating Lohri with the family members. On the work front Kangana will be seen in Thalaivi, Dhaakad and Tejas.
