Kane Williamson makes another record to his name as the cricketer becomes the fastest New Zealand batsman to score 7000 runs in Test cricket on Tuesday. The NZ skipper attained this record at Hagley Oval while playing against Pakistan in the second Test match of the bilateral series.
Ross Taylor, who is currently the highest run-scorer for the Black Caps in the Test cricket scored the same amount of runs in 96 matches. Williamson took 83 matches to reach the 7000-run mark in the longest format of the game, the right-handed batsman also surpassed former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming and Taylor to become the fastest Kiwi batsman to score 7000 runs in Test cricket.
Fleming scored 7172 runs for New Zealand in 111 Test matches while Taylor managed to score 7379 in 105 matches.Williamson went past Fleming on Monday to record most fifty-plus scores for the Kiwis in the longest format of the game. The veteran southpaw had 55 fifty-plus scores while Williamson has 56.
