The Finance Ministry has introduced new measures during a meeting of economic affairs ministers to address slow recovery in South Korea's tourism revenue post-pandemic. Despite a rapid increase in foreign tourist numbers, spending on goods and services by inbound visitors has lagged behind, prompting the ministry to take action to attract more tourists to the country.

As part of their plan, the government will start a trial run of the "K-culture training visa" this year. This visa will be for foreign nationals interested in training at K-pop entertainment agencies.Under the new program, foreign nationals studying K-pop dancing, choreography, and modeling can qualify for a visa approval.

They will also introduce a "region-specific digital nomad visa" for foreigners who want to work remotely while residing in Korea, facilitating connections with local governments.
