Shinhwa Andy's Wife, Lee Eun Joo, Speaks Out Against Death Threats

Lee Eun Joo, the wife of Shinhwa member Andy, recently took to Instagram to address a distressing issue she has been facing – receiving death threats. In a heartfelt message to her followers on April 15, the announcer revealed that she has been subjected to such threats for a prolonged period. Shockingly, she also disclosed that actress Seo Yoon Ah, who is dating fellow Shinhwa member Kim Dong Wan, has been targeted as well.

Expressing her concerns, Lee Eun Joo conveyed her apologies for sharing the disturbing content with her fans. She admitted hesitating to take legal action, fearing it might be misconstrued as an attack on Shinhwa fans and negatively impact her husband. 

Lee Eun Joo: 

“I am sorry to show you these bad words. I was going to take legal measures but I was afraid that Shinhwa fans would think I was attacking them and I was afraid I would be negatively affecting my husband.”

But I saw that actress Seo Yoon Ah  was also receiving these threats and so I am mustering my courage to stop this. I am sharing only some of the messages that I have received from the same person, who uses several different account handles.”

However, upon learning that Seo Yoon Ah was facing similar threats, she decided to bravely confront the issue.

 

Lee Eun Joo courageously shared screenshots of the abusive direct messages (DMs) she had received from the same individual, highlighting the severity of the situation. In these messages, a disturbed fan is seen hurling vile curses at the Shinhwa member's wife.

• You blocked my messages you xxxx.

• (Cursing her parents) Why did they give birth to you when you’re giving me grief? XXXX I want to curse you with all the curses in the world.

• Your birth is killing a lot of Shinhwa fans. Wake up, do you think your happiness will last? You think you have the world because you have Andy? I hope you’re cursed for causing sadness to Shinhwa fans. I will curse you from today on. I will XXX.
  

Despite acknowledging the importance of fans in her husband's career and expressing gratitude for their support, Lee Eun Joo emphasized her determination to pursue legal action against the perpetrator responsible for the threats. She clarified that her intention was not to target the loyal fans who hold a special place in their hearts.

Opening up about the emotional toll of the malicious comments, Lee Eun Joo revealed the pain she felt each time she encountered them. She urged the perpetrator to cease hiding behind anonymity and to take responsibility for their actions. While she acknowledged her resilience in dealing with the comments, she emphasized the need to address the issue head-on to protect her family.

Lee Eun Joo: 

“I know that my husband is where he is because of the fans. I, as his wife, am also humbly thankful to the fans. I would like to reiterate that I will be taking legal action against this specific person and not the fans who mean so much to us.

I tried to think that the malicious comments were better than disinterest, and I’ve tried to ignore the comments section altogether. But my heart broke every time I saw the comments.

I ask that you no longer hide behind your anonymity to write these comments. Although I’ve become strong enough to not be affected by the comments, I don’t want to face them ever again. I no longer think that ignoring these comments is a way to protect my family.”
