BIGBANG's G-Dragon, recently cleared of drug allegations, has made a significant stride towards social change by establishing the JUSPEACE Foundation. Committed to eradicating drugs and providing addiction treatment, the foundation received an inaugural donation of ₩300 million KRW (about $231,000 USD) from G-Dragon himself.
In a press release by Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon's agency, it was revealed that the foundation's name, "JUSPEACE," is a fusion of "justice" and "peace." The artist aims to leverage his influence to combat prejudice and injustice, advocating for a fair society where everyone is treated equally.
The genesis of the foundation traces back to G-Dragon's personal journey amid drug allegations. On December 21, he penned a handwritten letter explaining his motive, citing a newfound awareness of the severity of drug addiction. The first donation, made under the name of BIGBANG's fandom, VIP, and the Guardians of Daisy – a name G-Dragon created in response to the incident – marks the artist's commitment to the cause.
