Cha Joo-young, best known for her role in The Glory, has made headlines again for a topless scene in her latest historical K-drama, The Queen Who Crowns.
The actress portrays Queen Wongyeong, and the show features an intimate scene with Lee Hyun-wook, who plays King Taejong.
The first two episodes of the tvN and TVING drama premiered with two versions: PG-15 and R-rated. The 19+ version includes a passionate scene between the royal couple, where Cha Joo-young’s character is shown topless.
This isn’t the first time Cha Joo-young’s on-screen nudity has sparked discussions. During her time on The Glory, she addressed questions about a similar scene involving her character, Hye Jeong. At the time, she revealed:
“A body double and CG were both prepared. In the scene with Jae Joon, where my back is showing, a body double was used. But in the scene where I take off my shirt, that is me. Yep. The body is mine. But for that scene, there was some editing done through CG.”
Given her past comments, viewers wondered if her topless scene in The Queen Who Crowns was also edited.
