After a long due of the pandemic, Uppena is all set to hit theatres from 13 February at the time of Valentine’s Day, also film being about an emotional love story. It has been the most-anticipated film as it marks the debut of director Buchi Babu Sana and also for the lead actors Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty. Even it is a debut in Tollywood of Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi.
After the blissful teaser, the makers have launched its trailer under the hands of one and only Jr NTR. Taking to his social media, the RRR star shared the trailer and wrote, “Happy to present #UppenaTrailer. Good luck my brother Vaisshnav. https://youtu.be/fB3RcpbLvco. Best wishes to producers @MythriOfficial and director Buchi @BuchiBabuSana, @IamKrithiShetty, versatile actor @VijaySethuOffl Garu and @ThisIsDSP!”
The trailer again seems to be an emotionally painful love story and hints to be a tale of class/caste disparity honor killing, a la Dorasaani, Colour Photo, Palasa 1978, and more.
As the young innocent couple Vaisshnav and Krithi in love finding opposition from the girl’s family. Vijay Sethupathi plays a menacing overlord who doesn’t support the relationship.
Despite the delay in their debut film’s release, Vaisshnav and Krithi already have other films in their kitty.
