Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden promised on Friday that if he has been elected to power as the president he will provide free covid vaccination to all citizens calling it a part of a national strategy to “get ahead” of the pandemic.
He outlaid his plan of action to combat coronavirus. Biden attacked President Donald Trump over his weak handling of the covid crisis, saying that the Republican current president has “given up” battling the virus and has “quit on America.”
Biden has asserted to work and follow scientists’ regulations such as wearing facemasks and meticulously performing social distancing. He said that if he is given the mandate then he would be determined on bringing the pandemic under control, and will aid struggling Americans with the costs.
Joe Biden has publicized his strategy to fight the covid pandemic 11 days prior to the US elections. In his speech, he said, “Once we have a safe and effective vaccine, it has to be free to everyone — whether or not you’re insured.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has made a point that Covid-19 vaccine doses purchased with taxpayer dollars — through billions of dollars in funding approved by Congress — would be dispensed to the American citizens free of cost.
Democrats headed by Biden have excoriated Trump for his failure to carry out and implement an effective nationwide response to the Covid crisis which has so far taken lives of more than 223,000 Americans.
Further in his address to the citizens, Biden said, “Covid-19 dwarfs anything that we’ve faced in recent history, and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. We’re more than eight months into this crisis and the president still doesn’t have a plan. He’s given up. He’s quit on you. He’s quit on your family. He’s quit on America.”
His plans to combat Covid include– To pass important legislation addressing the country’s needs to fight the pandemic, execute a national mask mandate in federal buildings and interstate transportation and launch a national testing plan similar to a seven-fold increase compared to the current testing level.
Kamala Harris who is the vice-presidential candidate for democrats said on Friday about the Covid crisis. She said, “(Covid pandemic) probably one of the greatest mass casualty events we have ever experienced as a country.”
