The shooting of the films was halted for more than five months due to the outbreak of the COVID- 19 pandemic. However, as per the new guidelines, the filming has been recommenced. On March 16, the makers of the film Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur had to postpone their schedule in Chandigarh due to the same reason.
According to the recent updates, the team of Jersey will resume shooting from the first week of October. As per the report in Mumbai Mirror, a source close to the film revealed, “We will kick off with a 15-day outdoor schedule in Dehradun and Chandigarh. We won’t be shooting any cricketing portions, just some dramatic and emotional scenes between Mrunal Thakur and Shahid.”
Jersey is the official remake of the Telugu film with the same title made by Nani last year which was super hit. This film will be the second remake of Shahid Kapoor after blockbuster hit Kabir Singh which is the official remake of Arjun Reddy.
The story of the jersey is based on the senior cricketer who returns to the sport after a break of the decade with the view of earning money to pay his lawyer’s fee and buy his son an Indian team jersey. He makes an impressive comeback before the life-changing event takes place in his life.
The source further shared, “Shahid has already started brushing up his cricketing skills with his coach, but extensive training will begin only once the rains subside, towards October-end. The plan is to wrap up the film by December and target a 2021 release. The post-production work has been going on through the lockdown, with teams working remotely from their homes.”
