Ravindra Jadeja equals unbreakable record of Chris Gayle in Indian Premier League of scoring maximum runs in an over as Jadeja scored 37 runs in the last over of the innings bowled by none other than purple cap holder, highest wicket-taker in the tournament till now and highest wicket taker in the today’s inning too, Harshal Patel.
Earlier CSK won the toss and decided to bat first as Faf and Ruturaj Gaikwad made it all clear from power-play overs to play with attacking intent. CSKs openers scored 74 runs together and set the platform for middle order. Gaikwad scored 33 off 25 balls while Faf du Plessis scored 50 off 41 balls.
Middle order batsmen Raina and Raydu tried to continue the attacking approach but failed against planned bowling unit of RCB. With Harshal Patel taking 3 wickets RCB made a turning comeback in the game.
But again Jadeja turned the inning for CSK, scored magnificent 37 runs in the last over with 5 sixes a four and a no ball. CSK after scoring 154 runs in 19 overs reached 191 in the last over. Now Royals will look to find their way to chase this massive target in the second inning.
Chennai Super Kings: 191/4 (Jadeja 62, Faf 50, Harshal Patel 3-51)
