In the 19th match of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings will be playing Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday at 3:30 PM IST. RCB and CSK have acquired the first and second spot respectively with eight and six points each.
Chennai Super Kings played four matches out of which they won three and lost one while Royal Challengers Bangalore also played as many games, they won all their fixtures so far.
CSK will be heading into this game on the back of a thrilling 18-run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men set up a target of 221, Faf du Plessis scored 95 in the first innings. Chennai pocketed five wickets inside the powerplay, Andre Russel, Dinesh Karthik and Pat Cummins’ effort made the game interesting. In the end, CSK came out victorious as the three-time IPL winners got all 10 wickets of the Knight Riders.
RCB beat Rajasthan Royals comprehensively by 10 wickets on Thursday in their last game and will be facing CSK on a positive note. RR put 178 on the board for RCB, the total seemed defendable but Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal had some other plans. The Bangalore openers sealed the chase without bothering the other batsmen and with 21 balls to spare.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, CSK has the upper hand as they are victorious against RCB on 16 occasions and lost nine times. In the previous outing between the two teams, Chennai won the game by eight wickets.
