In the ninth match of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians will be playing Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai at 7:30 PM IST. Mumbai Indians has acquired the second spot with two points while Sunrisers Hyderabad has occupied the seventh position with a point to score.
Both teams played two games each, MI lost their first game and won the next one while SRH lost their previous two games.
Mumbai will be heading into this game on the back of a close victory against Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday. MI had to defend their below-par target of 153 against KKR, Eoin Morgan’s team was looking fluent in the run chase and were looking for an easy win before Mumbai made a terrific comeback. The MI bowlers restricted Russell and Karthik from scoring runs in the death overs.
On the other end, SRH will enter into this game on the back of a loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore. They had to chase 150 in the second innings, they were cruising towards the total comfortably before they succumbed to the pressure at the back end of the innings and let an easy win slip away from their hands.
It’s a tie between the two teams in the head-to-head competition as both teams won eight games each against each other. In the previous match between the two teams, SRH won the game comprehensively as they beat MI by 10 wickets.
