PM Narendra Modi highlighted today that the strategic partnership between India and Germany has become an important stabilizing force amid prevailing global tensions, conflicts, and uncertainties.
During the 7th Inter-Governmental discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister Modi hinged that the relationship between India and Germany is a conversion partnership between 2 strong and capable democracies, rather than a mere transactional one.
"The world is currently experiencing many tensions, conflicts, and a sense of uncertainity. In the Indo-Pacific region, we face some really serious concerns regarding the rule of law and freedom of navigation. In such challenging times, the strategic partnership between India and Germany serves as a strong reinforce anchor," PM Modi said.
He noted that this visit by Chancellor Scholz marks his third trip to India and represents a "triple celebration" of the friendship between the 2 countries. "During the last IGC held in Berlin in 2022, we made significant decisions related to our bilateral collaboration.
Over the past two years, we have seen positive advancements in various sectors of our strategic relations. Cooperation has intensified in fields such as defense, technology, energy, and green and sustainable development, which have come to symbolize our mutual trust," PM Modi elaborated.
He also expressed support for Germany's newly announced 'Focus on India' strategy.
