India completely dominated on the first day of the 3rd test against England where England go bowled on 112 runs and local boy Axar Patel contributed 6 wickets on his home ground.
Earlier, India president Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated first match of the newly renovated Motera Stadium which registers record of World’s Largest Cricket Stadium. President and Cabinet Minister Amit Shaha also felicitated Ishant Sharma who is playing his 100th Test match.
England won the crucial toss and decided to bat first. Indian bowlers started skillfully well where Ishant Sharma took his first wicket of the match in the third over. While spinners choked English batting lineup and took rest of the wickets on their own including 4 LBWs and 3 bowled.
England got bowled out on 112 runs and invited India for their first inning. Indian openers did well when Shubhman Gill took his time but couldn’t convert it into something big while Rohit Sharma leads to his another maiden half-century.
India loses 3 wickets at day end but scored enough runs at goof run rate. India will look to score more and more runs in their first innings to be in the driving seat of the crucial match.
