NorthEast United FC will be playing ATK Mohun Bagan at the GMC Stadium for the first leg of the Indian Super League’s semi-final on Saturday at 7:30 PM IST.
NorthEast United will be playing their second semi-final in this tournament since its beginning in 2014. They had made it earlier into the playoffs in the 2018-19 season. The Highlanders have looked settled and in cohesion since they parted their ways with the head coach Gerard Nus. They booked a berth for themselves in the semi-final after they beat Kerala Blasters with a scoreline of 2-0 in their final league game.
ATK Mohun Bagan FC will be entering into their first-ever semi-final game in the ISL as a new side. They finished second in the league stage, they were bettered by Mumbai City FC on head-to-head results.
It’s a tie between the two teams in the head-to-head competition as they played two games against each other in the current season. The Mariners came out victorious in the first game while the Highlanders managed a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.
NorthEast United FC has no issues regarding injuries and suspensions ahead of their semi-finals game. Deshorn Brown will be playing as the primary striker along with backing from Luis Machado.
ATK Mohun Bagan will miss the services of Michael Soosairaj due to an injury. Subhasish Bose marks his return from his one-match suspension. Sandesh Jhingan’s inclusion looks doubtful as the player has strained his muscle in the final league game against Mumbai City FC.
