Mumbai City FC will be playing FC Goa in the first leg of the Indian Super League’s semi-final at the Fatorda Stadium at 7:30 PM IST.
FC Goa entered the semi-finals on the last day of the league season when they finished fourth after a goalless draw against Hyderabad FC. They are on a 13-match unbeaten streak which they would want to continue and are also the home side in the first game of the two-legged semi-finals.
Mumbai City FC will be entering into this game on the back of a dominating 2-0 victory against ATK Mohun Bagan FC on the final day of the league. This win ensured a spot for the Islanders in the AFC Champions League 2022 as they finished as the table toppers.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, FC Goa has the upper hand as they beat Mumbai City FC on seven occasions and lost to them in five games while four games have ended in a draw. The previous game between the two teams which took place earlier in the tournament ended in a 3-3 draw.
FC Goa will be heading into this game without the services of Alberto Noguera and Ivan Gonzalez. Jorge Ortiz Mendoza is likely to get a slot.
Hugo Boumous makes his return to Mumbai’s squad after serving a four-game suspension. Rowling Borges might make a return while Amey Ranawade won’t be available for selection as the player received four yellow cards.
