Mumbai City FC will be playing Kerala Blasters FC at the GMC Stadium on Wednesday at 7:30 PM IST for the Indian Super League fixture. Mumbai City FC has acquired the number one position with 30 points while Kerala Blasters FC has occupied the ninth spot with 15 points.
Mumbai City FC played 14 matches out of which they won nine games, lost twice and had a draw on three occasions. Kerala Blasters FC played 15 games, they were victorious on three occasions, lost and drew six games each.
Kerala Blasters FC managed to sort out their team in the past couple of weeks and were on a five-match unbeaten run. In their previous fixture, they took a comprehensive lead of 2-0 but conceded three goals later on and lost the game.
Mumbai City FC were on the verge of continuing their unbeaten streak of 12 matches but NorthEast United FC prevented that by outsmarting the table-toppers by a 2-1 victory. The defeat was Mumbai’s second loss so far in the tournament. They have claimed the number one position in the ISL standings but just three points ahead of the second-placed ATK Mohun Bagan FC.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Mumbai City FC has the upper hand as they were victorious on five occasions and lost to the Blasters twice while six games were ended in a draw.
The Blasters have no issues regarding suspension except Facundo Pereyra who is sidelined due to a nose fracture.
After receiving four yellow cards Ahmed Jahouh is suspended for the game. Raynier Fernandes was injured in the previous game and isn’t fit to begin against Kerala Blasters.
